When my two children were 6 and 4, they wanted money.\u00a0 Money to buy something sweet.\u00a0 Money to buy something to play with.\u00a0 Money to buy something to wear.\u00a0 Money! Money! Money!\u00a0 How could I find ways for kids to earn money?\u00a0 Did I want to be an ATM machine for my kids forever?! \u00a0Was it possible for young children to earn their own money? Was it important to teach them about money this early in life?<\/p>\n
Being a mommy is not easy.\u00a0 And becoming the best mommy I could be was very challenging.\u00a0 As a mother, one of my jobs is to raise my children so that they can one day live on their own.\u00a0 Earn their own money. Pay their own bills.\u00a0 If I was truly passionate about my role as the mother of Xanthe, then age 6, and Quinn, then age 4, there had to be ways for kids to earn money \u2013 even kids as young as mine!<\/p>\n
But first, why is it so important for kids to have their own money?\u00a0 I know why it is important for me to have money.\u00a0 Having money gives me power.\u00a0 With money, I can buy what I want or give some away to help someone out.\u00a0 I can save money to use on a rainy day.\u00a0 I can also invest some of my money and make is work for me.\u00a0 And with all these choices, I felt very good inside.\u00a0 Having money strengthened my self-esteem.\u00a0 If money did all that for me, imagine my kids feeling that way. ;o)<\/p>\n
In fact, that\u2019s exactly what I wanted to do for my kids \u2013 empower them! I thought to myself:\u00a0 \u201cMy kids need to learn how to make their own money and how to make their money work hard for them.\u00a0 They need to become confident in themselves so that they are better able to make wise money decisions.\u201d There is no time to wait!\u00a0 Remember that saying \u201cthe early bird catches the worm?\u201d\u00a0 Well, learning ways for kids to earn money is better taught earlier in life than later! \u00a0;o)<\/p>\n
So, there\u2019s no better time to start educating children to learn ways for<\/p>\n
kids to earn money than when they are young \u2013 even as young as 4 and 6!\u00a0 I started thinking of different ways and I\u2019m here to share some of my ideas with you to share with your kids:<\/p>\n
In fact, as long as you are passionate about teaching your children ways for kids to earn money, you will be well on your way to raising well-prepared, empowered, money savvy young adults. ;o)<\/p>\n
Never let the age of your child prevent you from helping him or her learn about money.<\/p>\n
