It is a great site and has a lot more to offer than just what I describe below. They have some great informational videos and information about investing, credit cards, being in debt, getting out of debt etc. for all ages.

For now I will just concentrate on the Kids section of the site.

“Kids and Money” is an online money game that is SOOOO much fun! It’s part of Sorted, New Zealand’s FREE money guide. The activities are designed to help kids aged 5 to 12 years understand some basic concepts about money matters.

Set on and around ‘Money Island’, kids take an interactive journey where they can quickly learn some basic financial skills that can be used in real life. They follow the Sorted Mouse (SOOOO cute!) on an adventure that takes them not only to Money Island, but also to Dollar Reef and Cash Cloud.

There’s lots of games and activities about money, with the chance to get high scores and earn certificates. They can download screensavers and posters of their favourite characters. They can also get cool wallpapers for their computers and pictures to colour. All for FREE! ;o)

Each game or activity is designed to help kids learn and develop basic real-world financial skills. One of the best ways to teach kids valuable lessons about money is by giving them hands-on experience of managing real money of their own.
Managing pocket money is one of the best ways to do this.

There are 10 Key Financial Concepts and 8 Rules provided so that you can gleam useful information to help your kids under-stand money matters and develop important financial skills.

The Money Personality Profiler lets kids discover what their attitude is about money. Is your child a Savings Superstar or a Money Magician? There’s a glossary of terms that explains SOOOO well the financial terms used. I really liked this!

What’s really great about this place is how attractive every-thing looks. The colors are so bright. My two kids really enjoyed selecting their own cool player and visiting the Time Warp Lab where they learned how spending money and spending time are related. They also enjoyed playing Sty Wars, Change Challenge and Birthday Bash. Visiting the Moana Mall was terrific! Opening the Treasure Chest for its test was great too.

Enjoy the game and the site, Here is that link again

Cheers…Amanda van der Gulik… Excited Life Enthusiast! ;o)

P.S. Here are some fun and great money teaching tools I found on Amazon related to Kids and Money!
